Last time I was here (and it has been a while) - there was discussion of a pending iPod interface that would display the tracks, etc without having to disable the XM. I don't find that thread now. Was that vaporware???

 

Apparently so. USASpec kept saying 60 days or so. It is worth someone checking that out again.

Well - I couldn't remember the source. USA SPEC - shows on their website a PA15-HON2 that does just that - uses the factory radio to display the Ipod info AND retains all original functions like XM & CD - from their website:

Two internet dealers show them in stock - anybody try one yet???

 

The HON3 is the vaporware upgrade to the HON2 which has been around for 2-3 years. This one shows EXTENSION on the Nav screen, but no folder or track or title info. It treats the iPod or other audio device as if it were a separate CD changer. You toggle between it and the head unit DVD-A player by pressing the disc button. This same functionality can be found in the Neo Audio unit.

I missed this in the notes on the HON2

 

Has there been any updated HON's that will show Ipod/Iphone full text, since the last post back in 08/2007?

 

USA Spec says that it will have news on the web site in 2 weeks on the HON3 which MAY show iPod text without losing XM text
