Information Display

Has anyone had any problems with the information display above the navigation screen? Mine just started to go crazy and sometimes it goes out all together. Most of the time a light tap or 2 and it comes back on with no problems. If its a shortage how do I get to it without the dealers assistance?

The whole unit just pops out with some gentle prying and pulling.

I think that I did a full procedure for this issue - a search may find it although search on this forum is slightly worse than useless.

Thanks. I'll look at trying to get the system out on my days off. Or else back to the central texas dealer. Who will probably say replace the whole unit.

I think that the new unit is around $420 so it might be worth trying to fix it. I have tried twice to find my thread but the search feature is the worst of any site I have ever used on the WWW. If Acurazine ever made it useful then it would really help its users but now it only serves to frustrate and eliminate its functionality. Sorry for the rant but I get pi$$ed off with incompetance especially when dealing with geeks who have no clue how to write code or build a web site.

The search bar is worthless. The advanced search is the only way to search on this website. You can narrow down the forum/sub-forum you want to look in, the user who posted it, arrange by date or relevancy, and return either threads or individual posts.

Don't be so quick to put your foot in your mouth.

Always easier to use Google Search.

Keywords: Acura RL LED display

Pops up as the 3rd result.

I just did what Acurazine calls an "Advanced" search for my post regarding a solution to the MID. I do not remember which forum it was in because numerous MID questions are not in the "Audio, BT, Electronics and Navigation" sub forum. I asked to search "MID".
This POS returned every post that has an M or an I or a D in it.
My foot is still in my mouth and I still think that the search or Advanced search is the result of a failed exercise given to a 10 year old geek who has never used Google. Somebody must have constructed this web sites search function and if he is still working then sub-mediocrity is obviously tolerated by the incompetance for whom he works.

Thank you on behalf of the OP.

Please forward your response to the geek that thinks he produced an ADVANCED search.

Getting off topipc...but....

The search engine utilized by this site is a plug in. The web designer cranks out many web forums, and many have similar look and feel to AZ. The search engine is not designed or coded by the web designers. Likely they defaulted ot the most basic search engine that was available. They could always subscribe and integrate any search engine out there. Not likely Google, as it is $$$. But there are many efficient search engines out there and many used for web platforms. But that would cost more $$$ for integration and support.

My argument, however, is now that AZ throws all the adverts at us, and tracks our use, they should be able to afford and offer us a search engine more user friendly and worth the keystrokes we put in,,,,, which they track and sell to their marketers.

Got $140k? You can buy AZine and make it whatever you please.

As for not knowing what forum it was in, surely it was in 2G RL. And if you selected posts that were only made by you, you would only come up with the posts in which you typed "MID". Have an idea of when you posted it, say two years ago? Sort by date, and skip over everything that was posted in the last year or so. Just like any tool, it will only do the job if you know how to use it.

Meh. It's a good tool. It's not a great tool, but it's good enough.
