Thats exactly what happened mith me last night. I tried to turn the radio on and the digital display would turn on and then fade out and turn off. I turned the car off then back on and it started to work just fine.

Its basically blinking on and off, at first it was sparatic and now its everytime I have the radio on. I thought it might be the battery but the car has no other electronic issues or tell tale signs that it might be. I am hoping it might be a fuse any other suggestions?

Firstly, your hope that it is a fuse is a real long shot - a fuse either works or it doesn't, they are never intermittent.
I had the issue and pushing on the center unit would make or break its functionality. Eventually the only way of getting a display at all was to let the unit sit on the dash and not be clipped in. I enquired on a replacement and was quoted around $400!!
The solution was to unclip the unit, remove the connectors (one for the center speaker and one for the display) and proceed to take the whole thing apart until I has the circuit board out. I then touched up the dry-solder joints with a soldering iron. If you are not familiar with soldering then this may be a problem and beware of the surface mount components. Do not re-solder the surface mount components.
BTW some dry solder joints may be seen by looking at the solder joints with a magnifying glass and looking for dis-coloring of the solder or cracks in the joint.
Hope this helps - it's easy if you can solder.
