How to change 06 RL Display Light ?

The bulbs for the "Auto" and "Dual" text display is out. The green indicator bulbs still works. Any idea how much work it is to replace these suckers?

I just noticed this today when I drove home from work. Earlier in the morning, I took the car to the dealership today for an oil change. When I got the car back they had the climate control on "Hi". I don't know what they did, but do I have grounds to make a complaint? I do have an extended warranty on the car but I don't think it covers light bulbs.

Thanks in advance.

My car had this same issue. Replaced under my original warranty. I can't see why your extended warranty wouldn't cover it unless, you only have a drivetrain extended warranty. If they will not do it, I would put in a complaint. However I don't think its the stealership that did it. Mine blew out just because my car gets moody with me.

I have the same issue with my 2005 RL! No extended warranty though so anyone have a guide on how to replace this?

Also, have any of you tried the service bulletins instruction to "give the dashboard a good whack"? FWIW, "whack" is a technical term. It's slightly harder than a "thump" but lighter than a "smash".

If it gets too hot, you may need to take off your pants and jacket.
