Bypass OK button

Does anyone has an instruction on how to bypass the OK button? I have a 06. I did a search on this forum but there were a lot of folks on the TL forum did it but it's not the same for our car. I just hated it when I leave me car in P for more than 20 seconds and I didn't put it in R, my backup camera doesn't kick in unless I hit the OK button.

My backup camera overrides both the message and a turned off screen. Is your camera factory installed?

Not all of us have the luxury of "factory installed"

LoL, although once you put the car in reverse your hand is less than two inches from the button.

I know my hands are about 2" away from the button but sometimes I tend to forget about it. And also I'm sick of looking at the same splash screen. By the way, I install the camera myself.

I installed my camera too, yea we just do not have the flexibility to hack our screens yet.

Now that more 20 yearold's are owning them I'm sure someone will figure it out.

Too bad I am not a software engineer. I could probably debug the motherboard though.

"Like Button" PRESSED
Us 20 year olds are not LAZY, we can press that button

Plus, i think you should be warming up your car (regardless of winter or summer) before you drive/reverse, i usually press it while i am waiting.

Warming up your car is not necessary - those days are over. Driving with minimum load on the engine until it is warm is the preferred method.

First off no one said that 20 year olds are LAZY... why are you guys so damn sensitive lately?

My point is that no one has cared to hack the the nav, and the younger TL crowed seems to have figured it out.

Also, you warm up cars for the heat and that's it... letting a fuel injected car warm up is a waste of fuel.

It is also illegal in some cities. Letting a car idle in your driveway for more than 5 minutes can lead to a ticket. db22 is absolutely correct. You don't change your oil every 3k mi any more, so stop warming your car up.

haha it was a joke about the 20 year old thing. i still let my car warm up for 1 or 2 minutes, even though it is not necessary, i like to believe i need to wait for the oil to circulate before driving. must be a young stupid 20 year old thing (joking). i just feel its just very impatient if you already put the car into drive before all the warning lights even turn off when the computer is checking.

Starting the car in gear and waiting for it to reach normal operating temperature are two extreme ends of the spectrum. There is a nice sweet spot in the middle around 15-30 seconds.

BTW, I understand you don't need that explained to you.

Red = Joke... Bold = fight. .... NewB lesson over.

The oil thing is true if you are running a thicker weight in extreme temps... but ~1 you should be more than set.
