Question Hands Free Link weird behavior

I have Verizon Motorola E815 which worked with HFL flawlessly... till today. Today I still can make calls through HFL, but when somebody calls me - I hear "Incoming call" announcement, see the number on the MID, press phone button on the wheel and... HFL shuts off while the phone shows that the talk is in progess (talk timer keeps ticking), but I cannot hear anything.

Any idea what went wrong?

Thanks!
Konstantin

Numerous things may have gone wrong. First try to pair the phone again to the HFL and see if that fixes the problem. If it does not then I would suggest disconnecting the battery to the car. Let it sit for 5 minutes then recconect. It is similar to rebooting a computer. Keep in mind doing this may require you to re-enter your navi and radio codes. This should reset the HFL. If this still does not work, I would suggest tryinig another BT phone. If it continues to fail with another BT phone, go to your dealer and allow them to inspect the system and repair it as necessary.

I've had this happen to me yesterday. I pulled over and shut off the car. After re-starting, the problem seemed to go away....wierd!

The problem had occured several times in my TL. Completely random, not sure what the cause was - but as gbriank said, a simple turn off usually fixed it (except once I had to pull the battery)

I had a similar problem in my RL and my wife had it in her MDX. Another forum suggested changing from announcing the incoming call to using a ring tone. This corrected the problem in both vehicles.

Geez, this software by MicroSoft stuff in our cars is disconcerting. I haven't had this problem (no BT phone yet) but have had a couple of other things where rebooting the car fixed the problem.

Actually the trick which fixed the problem for me was not the rebooting of the car, but rebooting of the phone (by temporary disconnecting its battery). So the culprit was the phone and don't blame Microsoft for everything - it has nothing to do with Motorola or HFL system (Johnson control?) Acura used in RL and TL.
