gps navigation computer
Does anyone know where the gps navigation computer is located in the RL? I have looked behind the stereo head unit and broke my coin box led in the process.
I'm trying to hook up my GNET_RGB Interface for my backup camera.

The NAV unit is in the trunk, top left side. There is a 6 pin connector on the back of the NAV unit specifically for the OEM camera. The '06-08 NAV units work with the camera. The 05 does even though the plug is there.
Thank you 2007AcuraRL. Do you Know if there is a 20 pin connector on the back of the NAV unit because that is what I'm looking for? I have the 05 so I have to use the wiring harness that came with the interface module. The instruction said remove the existing factory connector attached to the gps navigation computer and plug the new RGB wiring harness in, then connect the vehicle connector to the other end.

I posted the schematic for the NAV system on one of the other threads. Go here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...?t=5302&page=2
btw, I mistyped in my earlier message and the OEM camera wont work on the '05 but I see you already understood that.
Thanks again 2007AcuraRL.
I found what I was looking for and will probably have the camera installed tomorrow. Mine is not quite as factory looking as yours is in the pictures in the other thread but it will do.
pharr...i found the fishing of the wire through the trunk support tubes especially challenging. I took some stiff bendable metal going up the tube with a hook to catch some 18 ga bell wire that I ended up using fishing line to pull the wire through. I had to cut the plug end off and remake up the wires. I spent forever trying to pull through the plug before I gave up and cut the wires. I then soldered the connections and finished it with heat shrink tubing.
The best way to snake wire through the trunk support rod is with a loooong wire tie. Its flexible yet just rigid enough. In fact, I think the 2006 camera kit comes with one specifically for this purpose. If you dont have a long enough wire tie, you can make one by stringing several shorter ones together. Just fold each one over where it connects to the next one and you can essentially make a long straight one.

I really appreciate the input fellas. I actually had one of the local radio installers put the system in for me for only $150. Not quite what I wanted as far as where they mounted the camera and the RGB remote control but it will do for now. Picture is exceptionally clear it actually brightens automaticly as objects get closer I'm loving that.
