Question Forgetful radio/NAV

My wife used the car for a few days earlier this week, using her fob.

When we got in together, she with fob #2 in her pocket, all the radio presets were gone and the Nav screen colors had changed.

I suspect this has to do with both fobs (#1 and #2) being in the car at the same time.

Anybody have comments?

Both fobs can be in the car at the same time, only one can be "in control". Lock the car, and unlock the car with fob you want to be in control. What often happens to me is the wife reaches the door first, opens and sets it to fob 2. I open the door on the drivers side, but because the car is unlocked with fob 2, the seat starts adjusting to her. I have to readjust the seat, close the doors, lock the car with the fob 1 from inside, then unlock, and Driver 1 profile becomes set.

The strange thing is that the Nav will not remember menu and map color settings and also seems to default to more detailed (distance scale) map view. I set them last night and today they are different, default, I think.
The radio now remembers the settings but does not display the station info (call letters) as it did earlier, and I wouldn't think that is related to the specific fob.
It almost appears that the change was originally related to the fob # but something else has appened also???

It sounds like you are getting the factory default settings. Perhaps one or both of the fobs have become un-linked. Try re-linking the fobs. The instructions are on the fob case.

Did as you suggested and the NAV seems to remember settings. Now I have to figure out why the radio does not display station info as it did before.
Hard to control those electrons....

The saga continues, even after the pairing exercise. Still the NAV wants to resort to default settings.
I am wondering if the fob battery can be low yet not have a MID warning?

easiest way to check that FOB is paired and recognized is to observe whether "Welcome Driver 1" is displayed upon start. Also, D1 light on door should be lit.

forgot to add that you need to make sure that you have locked/unlocked the car in between changing from FOB2 to FOB1. Otherwise, FOB2 settings will be retained.
