Eliminating the OK Nag Button Press
I have been only partly successful in extracting the contents of the bin files in the '06 RL's Nav. The decompressor I'm using (Bysin's dumpnavi) doesn't seem to be able to resolve all the files in the bins. It reports errors on some of the files, so I'm unable to even view them.
If someone has access to - and experience with - another WinCE decompressor, please give it a shot and report back.
In the meantime, I've isolated a couple of bin files I figure play a role in the OK nag ... 06Jog/06Jog2.bin and 06Touch/06Touch2.bin. One of these bins may house the executable that enables the system when the jogswitch is pressed to signify your "OK" of the nag screen. The 2 "JOG" bins are my prime suspects at the moment.
But in the hack for the TL, there is a file named "navi.exe" in the bin file that applies to the specific model of TL you have (in the case of my '06, it is BNHH401A.bin). The hack was accomplished by decompiling the bin file, modifying the navi.exe file, then packing it back in the bin file. The new, modified, bin file was then loaded into the Nav by burning it to a CD and putting it in the Nav's DVD player long enough for it to read the modded bin to its memory. Then the original map DVD was replaced and all was well.
The OS used in the RL is apparently WinCE, so anyone who can crack WinCE files should be able to break down the bin files.
Do we have any takers?
