Been lurking here for a while and thought I'd share in case it helps someone.
My 05 RL didn't have an Aux input and the cd changer stopped working, so I decided to take the plunge and picked up a 2010 radio, climate controls and the top display.on Ebay (about $190 all in). The 2010 radio has a 6 pin aux input on the bottom of the radio.
The colors on the radio weren't the same but the pinout is. Looking at the harness the thin wire on the end is pin 1. I removed pin 1 & 2 and soldered them together in order to activate the aux input on the radio.
From there I soldered on female rca leads because I want to be able to switch out bluetooth devices without having to desolder everytime. I also used heat shrink to secure my connections.
Zipped tied up the connection and tested it out.
I had ordered a 6 pin honda harness with a bluetooth adapter. The harness of course didn't fit so I chopped off the plug and soldered on rca's. Now I have bluetooth audio and everything else still works. This is a temp solution while I decide if I'm going to install my Audiocontrol DM-810 and the rest of my system. Any questions feel free to ask, hope this helps someone. Btw pin 6 is not needed.
It is a direct plug in the only thing is you will need the top display as the original 05 top display won't read correctly. Also since the newer radio has RDS, when using the AM/FM your screen won't show the stations or info but it will show on the top display (new one). Everything else shows up normally on the screen. The bluetooth unit is one from Ebay that I modified by soldering on RCAs. I can tell you though the music stream BT is garbage but the one I'm using is pretty good.
