05 RL cd player wont play any cd's. was told that they will have to send it off for repairs and total was about 700. has anyone else had this problem. they said it happen from playing burn cd's.

 

i haven't had any problem with my 05 yet, but i had to comment. there's no way it could have happened from playing burned CD's. how could that be possible? i assume you've tried many different CD's, do you get an error? what exactly happens?

 

That's non-sense.

The RL sound system supports MP3's and WMA's... how else are those put on a CD? By being burned.

 

The CD on my 05 RL also quit. When I press the cd button, nothing happens - it stays on the radio. No Cds will eject. If it costs $700 to repair mine will stay broken.

 

my RL cd player has been fine, bu the CD player in MDX jammed... it would play all but one CD.. if you selected the "bad" CD it would try..and you could hear the internals trying to change CD's but it would giv eup. the manual tells you what the various error code mean..tne code we were getting had something to do with the physical mechanism failing and it said you had to take it to the dealer.

ours was fixed under warranty, but i know they put in an entirely new CD system... maybe the whole radio.. not sure..but they changed it out. i imagine it would have been $$ if it wasn't under warranty..

 

I can't get my unit to even switch to the CD player, so no error code. Don't know if a CD is jammed or not.

 

I had the same problem and ended up buying a salvage unit for $300.

 

Fixed my CD player, or my wife did. She decided she would force an old CD in and figured it wouldn't hurt anything. When she did the player accepted the CD and it started working. Unknown to us, our grandson had taken all of the CDs out of the player. I'm just glad I didn't take it to the dealer and have him check it out. Neither of us had any reason to think there were no CDs in the player.

 

Yes an error msg comes up. the dealer says that they usually send them off for repair. i will go and get the error message and post it. its been out for a while and just use XM, but wanted to have ipod hookup installed.

 

i have a 06 RL and my cd player stop working also it flashing the cd # which is trying too play so now i'm just playing xm radio....Someone plz help
