Blown speaker

It seems that my drivers side door speaker is blown. The ANC causes a annoying rattle on idle and acceleration and I don't even turn my radio on anymore.

I assume door disassembly would be as easy as my previous tsx or S2000. I've read that 6.5 MBQ speakers require a trim fitting.

Should I just replace this with an OEM speaker? Or while I'm in there should I change it to an aftermarket option (possibly all 4 doors and rears). Would this affect ANC in anyway?

Thanks in advance,

Eugene

My understanding is that the ANC is on all the time, even if the stereo is off, which leads me to believe that it may not be an ANC problem. Remember the Bose ANC system was developed around the performance characteristics of the amplifier and speakers in the car. I believe that others have changed the sub, for example, and got an ANC going haywire because the sub is generating something different than the commands being given.

I think in the end, the ANC was defeated by disconnecting one of the input microphones, usually the one in the backseat.

I don't think ANC is the problem, I'm just saying even the ambient sound the ANC will produce in the speakers to "negate" engine noise rattles the speaker all the time so I need to change the blown speaker. I could disengage ANC, but if I turn on my stereo the buzz will still be there.

I think one of the sites, maybe Crutchfield, had data on the available speaker depth. We've got room, but some audiophile stuff like the Polk MOMO stuff have such big baskets that they won't fit. If I come up with the site, I'll post it for you. Once the speaker fits, there's no real reason not to replace with aftermarket (in pairs).

I just had this EXACT same problem,....
I would turn off the ANC when I would drive as it was getting THAT annoying. (with radio off push Disc 1, 6 and the power knob at the same time, then push disc 1 again to disable the ANC, then push the power knob 3 times [off-on-off] ) Done, but you have to do this each time you start the car.
Speaker was like 69 @ dealer and they charge 50 to put it in,...But the sound is WAY better now (obviously).

Also, Is it an 05>? Think there is a TSB in the garage bout them

I'd imagine you could have saved 50 bucks installing it yourself. Is it more involved than taking off the door panel and doing a simple plug-n-play? Unless of course money is no object, which is an enviable position, to say the least.

Once I figure out what the factory speaker is I'll probably just buy it and install it myself. I'm guessing it's a Bose 6.5" 2-way? I'll do some research but I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem.
