Backup camera for ACURA RL 2005 SH-AWD

I'm planning on putting a backup camera on my Acura RL 2005, my car comes with the navigation, so I'm thinking about putting the backup camera connecting with the monitor which shows navigation.
Is it safe to do so ?
I talked with many auto parts shop and they said $500-$700 they're gonna charge as it's a RL and it's gonna take 6 hours for them to connect and make it fully work

Not sure exactly how it goes, but I ass it's something like this.

Install Camera
Wire to nav display (not sure how)
Connect power signals to reverse light wire

Then again, IDK, but I know it's been done on TLs and TSXs so it's definitely possible!

Oh, and I like that you're going for using the nav screen instead of some weird aftermarket sunvisor type rig up display.

I used this write up to install a backup camera in my 06 RL.

https://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-g...a-install.html

It works 80% of the time, every time. Meaning there are isolated incidents where it will act as though no backup camera is installed and go to the navi screen while in reverse.

Maybe it has to do with the year of the navi disk I have in my car, as per the link Midnight Mystery posted. I'll check on that as I'd be interested to know.
