Question Acura Link

So i'm curious to know has anyone actually used Acura Link or found it useful? I thought the idea behind it was cool but my dealer doesn't seem to actually participate in using it so whats the point of it actually being there??

I have tried for three months to figure it out and to me it seems worthless.

I can't use it because my iPhone doesn't have a Bluetooth data connection... yet.

I've tried to get it to work without any luck. I'm on AT&T and use a AT&T Tilt.

For whatever reason, Acuralink won't work with the Windows Mobile Professional devices, even the ones with Bluetooth DUN. My Palm Treo Pro shows the "dial up networking" service in the Hands Free Link bluetooth setup on the phone but it won't connect to the server. Same with the HTC Touch Pro I had previously. My Motorola Q9h (WM Smartphone device) did work with Acuralink.

Even when I did have phones that could connect to the server, I got very few messages. My dealer doesn't use it either. I'm not sure it's a fully realized service from Acura at this point.

That's great to know, thanks for the information. I had no idea WM devices were incompatible -- I did see that on Acuras website, but their chart shows a lot of things which won't work that I've had success with.

All along I thought it was a bad configuration on my phone. Glad to hear its not me

I never once used AcuraLink. Verizon phones were incompatible and when I moved to the 3G iPhone last year, the data connection was impossible.

The problem with AcuraLink was that it was never updated to allow for newer Bluetooth tech, so it was basically useful in 2004-5 when the 2G RL came out, but after that it was useless.

I recieved this email not too long ago. I haven't tried too much, but I have not had luck. I saw one thread a while back that said you need to change the address it goes to for Cingular. My phone has windows mobile 6.1.

Thank you for contacting us in regards to cell phone compatibility.

We just wanted to let you know that the LG Incite is now compatible with your HandsFreeLink system.

If you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at 888-528-7876. We are available Mon-Fri from 7:00am-8:00pm CT.

Sincerely,

HandsfreeLink Customer Service
