Unhappy '99 speaker rattle

my '99 3.5 RL back left speaker that sits on the deck has been making this weird rattling noise. its not blown, bc when i turn the music down or on certain songs it sounds fine. but the noise is annoying. any tips?

Probably best posting this in the 1st gen RL forum HERE but you may want to just check and see if there's any debris sitting on the speaker. Would vibrate around when you turn the volume up. Happened to a friend of mine a while back.

If its an OE speaker and you have confirmed that nothing around the speaker is rattling... its the speaker.

Either the surround has deteriorated or the actual coil/speaker connections are broken.

Can you post pics and/or take it out.

pop the speaker cover off. just pry at at the 4 corners. there are 4 clips seen here

if the speaker appears physically good check that the 4 screws holding it on are tight etc.
