3G iPhone

When activating the HFL the volume shoots up. I have a 3G Apple iPhone connected. Previously I had a Motorola Razor and di not have this problem. If my radio volume is at 11 and I activate the HFL the volume increases to 30. Is there a setting I need to adjust to keep this from happening?

the volume settings for the radio and HFL should be separate. When you activate HFL, turn down the volume to desired level. It should remain at that level unless you change it. Also, it should not affect the radio volume.
If this is not the case, something is wrong.

Getakey is correct. You just have to press the HFL button and then you can adjust the volume using the volume control for the radio on your steering wheel to adjust the volume

I understand the seperate volume control for the HFL vs radio. It just that each time I activate the HFL the volume immediately jumps up to 30+ (very loud for the voice interaction) even when I turn down the volume on the radio to zero prior to activating the HFL. i would like the HFL to come on at 12-15 on the volime level. Even if I disconnect the HFL on volume 15 the next time I activate it the volume jumps right back up to 30.

I didn't have this problem with my RL and 3G iPhone. Perhaps resetting the volume of the iPhone will help?

This is not an iPhone question, but does anyone know about the compatibility of the new Palm Pre (comes out with Sprint 6/6/09) with the 2nd Gen RL? It should work, right?

It should, being a new product but you never know with Palm.

Ive been a Palm user for over about 4 years (Treos 650/700p/755/Centro) and they always seemed to be behind when it came to bluetooth. Lets hope with the Pre they actually get it right the first time.

Miner, I am not sure you understood what getakey was saying. If you activate the HFL, the volume for it is currently set at 30. To turn it down, keep the HFL activated and then turn the volume knob to bring the volume down to a more reasonable level.

This is a whole different problem if you have already set the HFL volume to 0 and when you reactivate it, it is shooting to 30.

My unlocked GSM Treo Pro works fine with the HFL system. It will not connect to AcuraLink but works well with HFL.
