2006 RL and MP3 player

I have a 2006 RL and am not sure if it has a 3.5 mm input jack for audio so I can plug in my iPhone or an MP3 player for music. Please advise if my car has this jack and where it is located. thx.

The easiest route is to get an FM modulator but I love my USA spec.

The jack was added to the tech packages in '07.

The harness interfaces with the XM module in the trunk, so the easiest route is to stick the iPod to the inside of the quarter panel. However, unless you put it behind the taillight access door, it will pretty much stay there. Some have run the wire to the console to allow easy access in the case that they want to use their phone. Leaving it in the trunk is not an issue since the unit charges the device.

Awesome Thanks.

So pretty muc the USA spec does such a good job of controlling the Ipod interfacethat there is really no need to touch the Ipod unless you are loading it or making play lists?

Completely integrated to the head unit, video screen, and steering wheel.

yep, and for the iPhone it works streaming radio well too (which I use more)

Also you you get notification when you get a text, email, etc, which could be a plus or minus depending. I personally like it as my reminders come through.

The only problem I have is that Siri takes longer to respond because she has to cut the music, then activate HFL, then speak.

I got me a great deal on 07+ head unit (~$150), I'm gonna swap it in soon.... I already got all the plugs in place inside the center console armrest (09+ setup).... for AUX port, I still think it's better with the stock HU..... I also got my hands on 2011 RL HU.... gonna see if I can swap that in too.... hehehe
