2005 RL - iPod Interface Question

Just picked up a 2005 RL yesterday, I've been researching iPod adapter solutions and I can't seem to figure out what is the best option.

I am leaning towards the following unit :

USA Spec PA15 HON2 http://www.usaspec.com/ipod.html

Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Or any other?

thanks
Craig

I installed the USA Spec - it works great, no problems. Followed installation advice from other posts. Installed the control box near the foot well on driver's side and the the connection plug comes out into the compartment between the front seats. Only problem is the songs do not show on the screen, only "Extension". Would recommend.

Yeah, I've got the USA Spec too and it works great! True, the only thing you see on the nav screen is "Extension" but you can still control the ipod via the steering wheel controls, on the head unit itself and on the ipod. As a matter of fact, this unit is better than some of the facotry ipod interfaces from Mercedes-Benz!

I'm new on here as I just picked up my '05 RL last weekend but in my research I've seen a lot of people use the USA Spec. I personally have a DICE Electronics unit that was in my last car, an '04 Accord. It is the same unit that fits the RL so I will be installing it as soon as my ProClip mount arrives. The DICE unit allows browsing by playlist, artist, album, and song and displays text on the Nav screen. The unit for the RL is the i-Honda-R4. I also have an integration guide from DICE that answers a lot of questions, let me know if anyone is interested.

Interesting alternative to the usual USASpec.

Do you have factory XM functional?

The Dice web page for the R3/R4 says
Text only available in SAT mode. Factory XM must be disconnected, which has pretty much been the story across different aftermarket iPod integration solutions since I started looking at solutions back in early 2007.

Its a great unit, I installed it myself with a friend in about 20 minutes. It works well although I have had a couple little issues with song selection but thats really just my nitpicking.

I use the USA - Spec as well as my SAT radio and all works fine!

I may have mispoken. There is a Y-connector so the DICE unit resides between the XM and head-unit but the text may not be possible on the NAV without losing XM. I'll have it installed in a few days and update afterwards. I do know that you can have both the XM and iPod/iPhone inputs but it may eliminate the possibility of having the text on the NAV.

Final word on the DICE R4 is that text is NOT available on the NAVI screen unless the XM is disconnected. If you're interested I posted about the install here: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-90/i-001-iphone-mount-dice-i-honda-r-4-a-708035/
