I would recommend doing the 105K mile service. You are almost do for it, you might as well do it now. Its mainly a timing belt and water pump replacement, but they also do a valve adjustment which should reduce engine noise.

RL Engine Noise
Hi,
This is my first post, but I would like to say 'Thank You' for coming close to the problem I'm having with my 06 RL.
My engine started making a higher-pitched sound that was louder than the normal engine noise. It became louder as I accelerated. I had the timing belt/water pump changed along with whatever came with that $1,600 bill at the dealer.
The noise is still present. It almost sounds as if something that is spinning is about to go bad. I've read it could be the tensioner, but I'm wondering if this is a common problem with the 2nd Gen RL and if anyone out there has had a similar problem.
