Windshield Wiper Problem

Hi, I hope someone knows how to fix this. The windshield wipers are not going all the way down. I think some Ice got underneath the wiper(into the little area where it goes when its off.) and it jammed. It works but doesn't go down to the bottom and when I turn it off it stops but wont go all the way down. I got all the ice out of the area but it didn't help. Should I try forcing them down? They are about 3-5 inches from the place where they are supposed to sit when they are off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think the RL has a winter mode for the wipers where they intentionally do not go down all the way when off. The purpose is to prevent them from jamming in collected ice and snow. I think they are placed in winter mode just by pulling up on them when off. Not sure how to put them back, but I would imagine it would be by pushing them back down.

Thanks, I think you are right Ed111. I just read that it goes into winter mode automatically if it has a build up of ice or snow on the wiper. But I still don't know how to get it down.

Just push down on both wipers simultaneously to move from winter to summer position. See page 135 of the owners manual (2006 RL) for illustration on how to push.
