Where is the air filter?!
#2
The car is so advanced it does not need one.
This is a test from Acura, if you cannot find it, you must pay the dealer $80 to put in a new one.
It might be under the silver cover in the middle.
I am still looking for my battery, help me help me.
The real answer is follow the rubber air intake from the engine out and you will find it, there is a detail thread on how to do it, please search.

Burning Brakes
in your picture, it's off to the right, follow the air intake hose from the engine, right above the battery. You will probably have to remove the plastic housing that runs along the right side of the car, it's held in by some plastic screws. It's pretty easy to do. If I were you, I would have replaced it with a k&N filter, costs about $40, but gives modestly improved performance (power and gas mileage), but never has to be changed, just cleaned with a $5 cleaning kit every 30-40k miles. Kit will last several cleanings.

I just did mine last night too..there are 4 screws one per corner and they were a bitch to remove..Besides removing the battery cover you should probably remove the rubber trim along the edge just to make it easier there not alot of room their..You should think about changing your cabin air filter as well if you havent done it in a while it's a hell of alot easier that the air filetr It's in the Glove Compartment..Good luck

K&N Filter comment
I am on my fourth Acura, all with K&N Filters. Don't know if this means much, but here are my trade-in mileages:
1993 Legend - 265k
1997 3.5 RL - 328k (actually still going strong when my daughter totaled it)
2002 3.5 RL - 199k
2005 RL - 65k now and who knows how many more?
Point is, I'm not sure whether they actually help, but I don't think they harm anything. The reason that I buy them is purely economic due to the fact that I put between 50k-60k per year on my car.

site your references
studies ?? I buy mine on ebay.. generic I think.. by the way it isn't like the filter just comes out, you have to sort of pry up all the plastic after unscrewing it, and then pull out the filter.. It isn't hard, but when you are pulling all the plastic up, it seems like it may not be under there, but it is... they just didn't want it to be simple to access...

As green as Honda is I am sure they would use the reusable K&N rather than though out the disposable filters.
I will stay with paper filters.
Ok, one more point, why do you think it lets more air in, it does not filter as well.
