What's your favorite mod for the RL?

Inspired by rtr to start more positive conversations, I want to know what your favorite mod to your car is. If you don't have many mods (like me ) or have a nice wish list going, you can pick a mod that someone else has done. Please post a pic to go along with your decision if you choose an aesthetic mod.

My favorite mod is the wood interior upgrade for the '05-'08 including shifter, steering wheel, & console.

(The pic is actually a '11 2.5G, but the same look can be achieved for the 2G. I'll find a pic of one tomorrow on my computer.)

my fav mod was the takeda intake for fun, summer tires for grip, and upgraded rorors & pads for stopping power.

seeing people jump outa the way...does not get tiring.

I am not into modding the RL because most of the mods, in my opinion, are too expensive for almost zero gain but the first thing that has to go is the wheels. I am not sure that I could name a car of this caliber that has such awful wheels.

YES! And no need to list them all, this isn't a one-upping match. I just wanted to know what one thing people most appreciated as far as changing the RL.

hahahaha, you're killing me man. On a serious note my Rotora BBK, Mugen kit and works wheels has been one my favorite mods I have done and the rest has been a must.

hey zelaya do you have pics of the bbk. where did you get them? and what was the price? if you dont mind me asking.

also i agree with db22, its to expensive and it take a little not saying alot but a little of the luxury look, i will probably do wheels and suspension. sound not to much yet would love ppl moving out of the way hearing me come down the road, plus my fiance doesnt like the sound, i had atlp on my 3g tl and she hated it yet she got used to it.

i would love wheels like the works but the lug size are different, you have to custom make the bolt and thats more money. like these i love these and want them soo bad.

Well, I don't have the Mugen kit, so the two upgrades I have to say I like the most are the wood steering wheel and my wet nitrous kit.

oh yeah... sign me up for one of those!!!

Seriously... most of the "engine" mods on the RL will get you ZERO gains for your money... not worth it.. I have done few uprades.. but I honestly think the OEM rear spoiler + tint made a huge impact on the appearance of the car.. for not much money the car went from VERY boring looking, to rather sharp.

just my thoughts...

a drop + new wheels would be my favorite mod - I've seen the before/after pics and the results are dramatic... I just haven't done it yet.

My favorite mod would have to be my teins comfort sports coilovers. lowering the car is one of the very first thing i do to my cars (ex for trucks and etc). i hate the 4x4 look! changes the whole appearance. much better feeling too.

I've done both the A-Spec suspension and the wheels, and the wheels get my vote. Got my ASA's (see avatar pic) at Tire Rack, and I think they were great bang for the buck, but there are lots of choices that look way better than the stock dog dishes.

If you're like me and need to do your "mods" on a strict budget, you still have some options. For less than $20 bucks, paint your rotors. For less than $50 get a K&N air filter. For less than $100 change all your bulbs to LED units (including turn signals).

Like 037 mentions, upgrading the brakes certainly make a huge improvement and look really cool too.

I used caliper cleaner, black caliper paint and clear (all from Autozone if I recall). I used masking tape (the blue one) to tape over the letters and a razor knife to trim the tape. You'll also want to mask off the bolts. It was a little time consuming to trim the tape, but a heck of a lot easier than trying to clean the letters with no tape.

You did great painting on flat black and with the new rotors it looks even better. Good job!

My favorite mod was my 5zigen Fireball exhaust. It sounded great and made the RL sound much sportier than stock. I need a little exhaust noise in my life since I spend so much of it in my car.

LOL, I masked off the letters and bolts...but didn't do such a great job masking off the entire rotors. What you are seeing is overspray!

Once I was done with the paint, I did put a wire brush/drill attachment on my dremel tool and go over the bolt heads.

The rotors are EBC EDG units. I ordered them with black "hats", otherwise you'll get the gold colored units. Notice they are not drilled all the way through the rotor. It's more like they are dimpled.

It is the difference between the Plood and wood. You can still buy the wheel from a dealer. The knob is discontinued, but can be found on eBay. The console trim is from any MMC (09+) car. There are two slight modifications that need to be made to make it fit.

I have recently procured the knob (from a TL actually) and the wheel. I need to get onto calling salvage yards looking for MMC parts for the console trim. Brand new, the whole trim is like $400. The cup holder is $130 alone.

I actually don't like the wood on the center console. Having it on the dash, doors, steering wheel and shift knob is more than enough IMO. I do like the 09+ darker wood interior but I also like the contrast of brown wood on ebony interior in the 05-08.

My favorite mod so far, (I haven't done too many yet), is wheels and tires. I'm just not a fan of 90% of Honda/Acura's OEM wheels. They're always too bland for my tastes.
