What would you do?

I currently have an 02 RL with 110k. Everyone knows these cars are hard on gas and I am looking to buy something fun to drive and not hard on fuel. I have narrowed my choices to 2 cars a 2005 RL or 2007 Civic SI 4 door. Don't be biased but which would you get?

You're kidding, right? If you're worried about fuel economy, the 2G RL is not a good choice for you. In the city we are lucky to get 18-19 mpg, though on the freeway get in the mid-upper 20s. The Civic is clearly better from that standpoint.

Not just fuel but something fun to drive. I never considered owning a Civic again for it was my first car but I just so happen to see the Civic SI Navi 4 door and fell in love with it! But my heart is on a 2005 RL that we have on the lot. But I am anxious to see what Acura is going to do with the RL because of slow sales.

I'm with Tom above. These are such different cars I don't see how you can be cross-shopping them.

The Civic is a young-guy rollerskate, whereas the RL is a grownup luxury car. The Civic is the Metallica-wannabe rock band playing at the local club ... the RL is Chicago. The Civic is a cheeseburger ... the RL is a ribeye and baked potato (with salad and bleu cheese dressing). The Civic is faded blue jeans and a tee shirt ... the RL is designer faded blue jeans and a golf shirt with a shark logo. The Civic is a beer ... the RL is single malt scotch. The Civic is Coach ... the RL is Business Class, with a possible upgrade to First.

No offense, but if your main worry in life is gas mileage, maybe you should get the cheeseburger ... er, Civic.

I am calling the cops!

Nah, no kicking. I like the new civic myself. But you have to admit, it is a stretch comparing the two. At least they are both Hondas!

But for the the love of all mankind,,,,puleeze to not insinuate that the RL looks like a Civic!

But on an RL board, what would you think? Did you expect to get off scott fee?

You sure did!

You got a good price on a great car. Now get out there and drive it! With A-Spec the car is very fun to drive.

We usually don't get the opportunity to purchase trades until they have been at the dealership for at least 2 weeks but since we didn't fair well with the Meteor Silver, I had first dibs!
