Actually, you will the same problem on the Lexus GS, but no one seems to have issues with that front. Maybe they did a better job and they don't have that big chrome strip to deal with.[/QUOTE]

I was going to mention the GS. The front of the hood where it meets the grille is actually lower that the tops of the headlights. Not great, but tt looks a little more organic than the '09 RLs misplaced cutline.

I think they tried to reuse the 05-08 hood, and in raising it up to align with the taller fenders, they realized it would be too short. Rather than make it the correct length, they "grew the grille".
