What career are you in?
I retired in 1994 after forty years in broadcasting and motion picture post production services.
Of all of the fine cars I have owned, my favorites have been my four Acura RL's (1997, 1999, 2000 and 2005). The 2005 is the best of all.

I'm 42, and started with the U.S. Postal Service some 18 years ago.
During that time my buddy and I started a hobby group discussing
Home Theater, movies and DVD.
That hobby grew into the Internet's largest Home Theater and DVD
discussion forum with nearly 60,000 members.

A real blessing despite the fact I am running that business with
my partner and still working full-time for USPS.
...and, no, I'm not going to go Postal on all of you!

Have you driven the NSX? I have both, my new 2005 Pearl White RL and a Spa Yellow 1999 NSX-T that I bought new in 1999 - awesome cars! 911s are nice but I like my NSX a whole lot more.

Lot of medical professionals here. Interesting. I'm a software quality lead who specializes in SAN products (switches, continuous data protection etc.).
Looking for a new job in the SF South Bay :-)

G'day from Sydney, Australia.
I'm the Principal of an IT consulting business to the Sydney SME market.
We do all kinds of "outsource" techy stuff.
Current whip is a Eunos 800m.
The RL is (or will be) called the Honda Legend downunder. Current delivery estimate is early 06.
And, unlike the US system - we name an 06 model WHEN its released in the actual Gregorian calendar year of 2006. So, maybe our 06 model will be "your" 07?
Look forward to following the adventure's of the Stateside RL's on this forum.
HAPPY MOTORING EVERYONE
Cheerio.
PS: Aussies are renown for their laconic sense of humour.
So, apologies in advance if my humour doesn't translate well.

Career
I'm a Security consultant.
This is my first decent vehicle. Up till now I've always been in old used junk.
I decided to treat myself.
I'm in my mid 20s and after shopping around, this seemed to be the best bang for the buck. It has everything I want with the following exceptions.
1. Bluetooth phonebook
2. Convertable top (Chrysler 300 is comming out with a 4 door convertable next season. That's awesome. I've been looking for a car like that for 5+ years.)
3. Elite Brand recognition. Acura doesn't grab people as a luxury car, like the german brands...
Regarless, I love this vehicle.

maybe we're all younger owners on here?
I'm 31, and an equity trader in NY. Everyone I know seems to have a BMW, but after driving everything out there the RL was the best car for the money. I swapped out of my Audi A4, and really thought hard about the A6. I wish the RL looked as good as the A6, but I had so many electrical problems with the Audi that I couldn't buy another one. Does anyone else think the RL is a bit bland looking? Maybe too much chrome? I'm not sure, but I wish it looked more like the A6 or Lexus GS even.

I wouldn't mind the RL having a little more agressiveness attached with it. I agree with your observation on the looks of the Audi or GS. I wouldn't mind a different look. Personally I like the amount of chrome there is on the car - and I even like it even more if the 18" optional chrome wheels were standard.

Good idea to resurrect this thread, especially with all the new RL users here.
I am a neurologist. Could you guess by the user name?
Jeez, there are a lot of medical professionals here. In fact, it was a colleague at my primary hospital that convinced me the RL was an appropriate upgrade from my TL. He'd bought a 3G TL after I did but decided he needed more luxury, so he bought a Tech package with PAX and CMBS earlier this year.
I just met another colleague this weekend who bought his RL about the same time I did. He admitted he bought it for its value.

You must have no medical school loan debt to own a 3G TL during residency.
Or if you do, GI is the way to go to pay all that off!
