What is the average age of the RL owner?

Just curious because some people said this car is for grandpa.
So I just wondering what is the average age of RL owner and why you choose this car?

Age 49, chose the RL because I like shiny things that go fast, love technology and hate wasting money.

grandpa car

I'm 30 now and I got my 06 when I was 29. As soon as my wife saw it she said it was a grandpa car.

37.

I bought it for the SH-AWD. The RL is the best car for the $ and the tech in the car is awesome.

I don't think this looks like a "grandpa car":

Unfortunately, this "poll" is going to be skewed. I am betting the average age of ownership is 'older'...but the average age of RL owners who visit and post on forums is 'younger'.
My dad still doesn't know how to use email.

My dad, in his late 50's, downloads on P2P! As a neurologist, I see a lot of "older" (I consider this above age 60) patients. You would be surprised how many of them bring in printouts from WebMD that weren't done by their kids or grandkids! So you might be surprised by the results of this poll. There's already a couple of responses from people over 60, so we'll see.

You might want to check out the Photo Gallery. You'd be amazed at how you can enhance the looks of the 2G RL just by adding some subtle tint and wheels, and the rear lip spoiler makes that funny-shaped curvy rear look much better. Trust me, you still made a good choice, and you hopefully invested the $18k you saved over the Beemer.

I'm surprised to see so many young whippersnappers here. I'm turning 62 next month and I'm not about to slip into a big Buick and wobble down the highway at 50mph with my left blinker on.

30 now, got the car when I was 29. I moved from a 2000 TL with Comptech exhaust, springs, sway bars, and AEM intake. It was time for me for another car, and it was natural to move to the RL.

The poll is locked so I can't enter. I'm 38.

I don't understand this grandpa thing and probably never will.

The car is athletic, not boaty and I think it looks sharp....(nothing like an Accord)

Granpa cars typically have big trunks and isn't one of the complaints about this car that it has a small trunk?

In "real life" I have never seen anyone younger then me driving this car. The car is appreciated by an older demographic, no doubt about it. With age comes wisdom.

28 now, but got it back when I was 26. Despite the AWD and tons of gadgetry, my ex-girlfriend also said it was a grandpa's car. Hmm...guess that's why she's now an ex.

ROFL! took delivery in july 2005 at the age of 33, now 34. Pretty much every lady that's stepped in the car has been impressed, even more so if ya let em drive it plus who cares if others think it's a grandpa's car? less chance of your rl getting keyed or broken into at the mall IMO.

Was 39 when I got it, now I am 40. The deal Acura was offering in October was to good to pass up. I love the gadgets, ride and audio system, I will admitt however; the body style is still pretty conservative IMHO. Still, have absolutely no regrets whatsoever.

I'm 54 and will be the double-nickel later this year. Riddler said it all for me. I'm glad to be hanging with you younger folks. Like the Irish adage, "You are only as old as the woman you're with", my car woman (06 RL) is one hecka of a lot younger than my previous car woman (02 RL). She's got gorgeous curves and also lets me take curves in pretty much any position my imagination can imagine (VSA, no VSA, climb inclines, etc.).

Yep, glad to be hanging out with you younger folks.

I'm 28 and this is my 5th Acura. Best car for the money hands down. Who could resist all those shiny buttons =)

I will never own another BMW, well maybe an M6, but the 740i I purchased new depreciated faster than a condemned house. There was no sense in worrying about where the latest rattle was coming from or what was going to break next. I still have it, but it's left at the airport most of the time. I think if I had to give up my RL I would deffinately go with a Mercedes CLS, I love the lines on that car.

I'm 54 however I'm obviously young at heart. I would never consider getting a Lincoln Continental or a Volvo. I come from a family whose uncle at 92 drove a black Pontiac Firebird. Enuff said.

Only 3 of us out of 73 have admitted to being 60+?

Couldn't be too much of a "grandpa car" with those stats.

I may be 54, but I love driving the h%ll out of my RL. Darn thing is like on rails when making sharp turns under heavy power. I don't expect the original tires to last long with all the fun I'm having.

Well, the bell curve *is* going to be shifted to the left somewhat, given that most RL drivers over 60 are still trying to call their grandchildren to ask them where the power switch on the computer is and how to make a post on the Interweb.....

(kidding.)

Oh, and I'm 38... for two more days.

That's how I feel, too.

Mike_TX is setting the standard for us youngsters . Just because you're 62, you don't have give up this kind of fun.
