Weirdest Thing

This morning i wake up to move my car, everything seemed normal. My doors unlock, the steering wheel goes to the driver 1 position, but the car wouldnt turn on! Seem like the battery died but everything else functioned well. Seem like it was the starter so i gave it a jump from my other car and then it turned on and everything went back to normal. What gives?

Takes a lot more juice to start the car than to power the "little" things. Battery could be bad (or going bad) or a connection may be bad. Time to check it out.

I totally agree, batteries last about 3 years with these cars, less if you use the hi setting on the seat warmers a lot.

This happened to my RL earlier this year. It occurred as its battery was on the way to dying because of an electrical leak.

Batteries don't last as long on the newer cars because of all the extra accessories. Time to change the industry standard for automotive electrical systems, they're very much out of date.

My RL dealer techie told me to always lock the doors, even if it's parked in the garage. If you don't, then some electronic packages are still running and are a significant battery drain. Urban lore? Who knows.

i had it not start one time when i drove to the dunkn donuts in the morning
almost had to have it towed only to realize that the steering wheel lock engaged and that was causing it not to start no matter how many times i tried to start the car.

who knew....lol

my batteries had just died two days ago when i was driving, luckily it was close to my home. During that time, the shawd system appeared to be disconnected from the all wheel drive system and even i push the accelerator all the way, the car would not move at all. It scared me a lot but after a while it starts again. And by the way do you know how many cold cranking amp acura battery usually has?

The batteries are warranted for 4 years with no mileage limits. I just got mine replaced by the dealer at no cost and I am out of warranty (except for the battery).

Funny thing is that a few years ago I read that the automotive industry was moving toward a 24 volt systems for just this reason. Haven't heard a thing since.
