Warranty

Hi guys, new to the board but been snooping around here for a while. I've had my 2005 RL (CPO) for about a year now and my 12 month bumper is bumper is up. Bought the car at about 45k miles and now I am at 59k. My acura dealership (Westchester) is offering me the extended bumper to bumper 4 year/48k for close to 2 Gs. I've had issues over the past year which was fixed with the CPO warranty so I'm most likely going to go with the extended warranty just to be certain.
Question is does anyone know of a Acura dealership in the NY area with a better/less pricy extended warranty?

if they really give you 4 more years of bumper to bumper for 2k, jump on it.

Most warranties take effect after factory...so they sell you 8 years when car is new when in reality they give you 8-factory.

4/48 for 2k is a deal IMO especially for a 2005 which is the more problem prone as it's the first one out the gate in the model line up.

Seems expensive, I paid $900 for the same warranty a few years ago, but I did buy it at the same time I bought my car, which meant CPO overlapped with extended for a year. In effect, I got three years/100k. I didn't think Acura offered those extended warranties on cars once they hit 50k miles, guess I'm wrong.

Has your car already had most of the fixes identified on the board (AFS, AC, door handles, side mirrors, prop shaft bearing, etc.?) If it has, not sure a warranty at that cost would be worth it since engine's and tranny seem to be holding up well and there isn't much else to going wrong at that mileage.

blazing...why do you think its bad deal? i think for an 05 with the well known gremlins its a decent deal-not great not awful.

In the one year ive had the car i had to get the driver door handle fixed and a new passenger side speaker put in. I'm sure that would have been 1K right there. Also when I brought it in last week to have them look at my rear power shade they told me the motor was going on it and that was going to cost 1k.

I guess I answered my own question about the warranty and it might be worth it considering the sunshade price alone.

christopher1...thats a good question and ill have to ask if its an oem warranty or strictly through them.

It's funny afer researching this board for what feels like forever I thought Id be screwed since you could only purchase the extended bumper to bumper on cars under 50k. When I spoke to their financial director he said the cutoff is 60k and at about 59k im right there. I asked for a better price then what they quoted me and he said Curry would charge me 20% more.

Blazing used to work for a Honda dealership, he has personal knowledge of doing what he said to other people.
