Vario Tint
I think it looks like crap personally. Gimme black and it's pretty cool. Also, a Google search yields practically nothing but Russian sites, so I'm going to say it is not available in the states.
is this a film you put on your windows... OR is this custom glass? if it's a tint that you can apply to glass, then I could see widespread applications assuming it's not $$$.
if this is special GLASS... then forget it. you would need the glass custom cut and then installed, which woudl be HUGE $$$$.
is this just a tint/coating???
it would be neat to be able to turn the tint on/off at the touch of a button. you iknow whre i'd love this is on my house!

It is a film that has electrically sensitive crystals. An applied electric signal will cause the crystals to align, and turning it off will allow them to randomize their position. I am guessing that when they are aligned is when you can see through.

I might be wrong, but I don't believe it is just a film. I think it is very high end custom glass.

I stand corrected. I believe you are correct based off of that site. It also appears that they do have dark solutions.
OP, they have one office in the US, Knoxville, TN. Their site does not seem to list any vendors.

I remember reading about this when the 787 was finished. Not sure of it is the same technology, but I bet it makes its way into autos at some point

I expect this to be in more "panoramic" roofs and in the windows of high-end cars over the next few years, becoming affordable later down the line. I have had a welding hood with a version of this in the lens for a few decades.
