Tpms issue

For a couple months now I have had the Check tire pressure and error in toms system .. My RL is an 05 but I'm so tired of seeing this warning pop up.

I just bought new tires on eBay do I need to buy a new toms or can I reuse the existing one?

Why is it that your getting the warning? Do you still have tpms installed or are you waiting to install with the new tires?

What is the error? Solid flat tire with eclamation light, flashing flat tire with exclamation light, or TPMS light? You'll also have a code set. What's that?

We can't address the issue if we don't know what the error is.

I have a PBD cable and a software program on my laptop to clear codes or check them but it wouldn't connect

What I am asking is.. I bought 2 tires new on eBay.. one tire reads 13psi and there is an error according to the computer.. can i reuse the faulty tpms when I swap out the old tires for the new tires I'm sick of seeing this light on my dash

You haven't changed your tires yet, your current TPMS sensor doesn't work, and you want to know if you can reuse it? Did I read all of that right?

The RL learns TMPS sensors automagically. If you get a new one, it will work. If you reuse a bad one, it probably wont work.

I would guess probably 2 of your TPMS sensors are busted.

Make sure they're all the same. I had 2 sensors that went bad and I bought 2 after market ones and they wouldn't work with the OEM ones. I ended up returning those and bought 2 OEM tpms and my problem was solved. I think they're about $30-$40 a piece.

I know BDoggPrelude can tell you which ones will work and won't work (if any). Otherwise, I would follow the advice of TireRack. That isn't a topic that has been definitively discussed here.

The picture with the pressure showing, my drivers side front has been reading 58 lbs for a few weeks now and guess what? I am getting a TPMS function error within 3-5 mins of driving time. I guess I will be replacing that sensor.
How do I confirm what is actually the problem? Im not seeing any codes in the message center. Would a code be listed if I ran a scan?
