no.
it's the way honda/acura reinforces their structure.
If one were to mod it, like cut the bracing, it wouldnt be structurally sound

Bottom of the seats are secured by bolts and metal loops:

Top of the seats are secured by two braces.

You would have to convert the braces into latches and the bottom hooks to hinges. But even then, you would have to get hinges which would allow clearance for the seat to sit flat. Then the back of the seat is exposed foam, and as you can see from the last pic, there is still the liner and chassis in the way.

Are there any luxury sedans that have this?

What do you need to haul?

Ian,
Sometimes I lie awake at night wondering how you have such vast knowledge of the RL, and why you care to enlighten others on a car you haven't owned in years. The bottom line is you make this forum a better place for it.

Bond does a great job, despite not owning an RL for 3(ish?) years now.

4 years on March 5th. My brain is full of a whole bunch of mostly useless information. I figure I better put some of it to good use.
