Suspension noise/rattle

The other day I was driving on one of Baltimore's old bumpy streets at about 25-30/mph. Noticed slight rattle from the suspension. Anyone else notice anything like a rattle from the suspension? No noise at all when driving faster than 30. Dealer told me to take everything out of the car before addressing the issue.

Actually, I think the dealer is making a smart request. I always thought I had rattles in my previous car, a Mazda. One time it was my sunglasses in the door storage compartment. Another time it was loose change in the center console. Another time it was my briefcase handle squeeking as it bounced around. And another time it was noise from crap that the kids left in the car that got hidden under the seats. My hearing is not that refined, and all I thought was damn, a squeek. (After ten years, the Mazda had no squeeks.)

Not sure, but I have heard the same low rumble (my best descripiton) on occasion. My wife's 01 CL has had the same intermittent noise and we have been unable to isolate it to determine the cause. I am beginning to think this is normal?

That's exactly what it is. An intermittent rumble ... sort of. Thanks for the reply. I only notice it at slow speeds.

I get a rattle from the dash just left of the driver (near the vent). I mentioned it when I was in for a RL Q&A at my dealer and they said they would look at it whenever I wanted to bring it in (haven't done yet). They said another customer had same issue. Haven't noticed any other rattles or squeaks though.

This probably isn't the same "suspension rumble/rattle" that you guys have heard, but I was hearing a rattle coming from the rear of my RL when going over rough roads. I noticed that the bottom of the license plate frame that my dealer installed with their advertisement cannot be secured to the car, so it bounces against the trunk, below the little padded standoffs that the license plate rests on. I took off the license plate frame and I haven't heard the rattle since.

Again, probably not the same noise, but I figured I would put it out there...

I have a rattle in my front left suspension when driving on tar and gravel roads. Do not hear it when driving on asphault. Only hear it at 20 - 40 mph and only with the driver window down. Dealer could not duplicate.

Try slightly pressing the brakes when you are going over the rough roads and see if the noise is still there.

I think I have the same noise you hear and thought it was the suspension but it may be the brake calipers bouncing agianst something. Others have reported this same issue and someone suggested it was the brakes and suggested some slight brake pressure when it starts to see if the noise goes away. I tried this and sure enough the sound does go away.

I may take off my front wheels today and see if I can see what's up.

This issue seems to be a widepsread problem and it pisses me off that is the case. Apparently Acura is aware of it and is telling dealers what to do to fix it.

All I know is I hope I can get rid of it today because it is annoying to have that sound in a car of this price.

dit- doh, just notcied the date this was started and hwo the original poster may know it is the brakes.

There will be an official fix for this soon. Apparently the brake pad is shifting up and down and hitting the frame of the caliper.
