Surge forward

I have noticed on my 2005 RL that after parking for a couple of days without using the car, the next time I start it and go a little forward the car immediately surges forward. Its almost like an untamed beast who has been tied down for a while and rearing to go.
If its driven daily I don't see this. I always go an inch or two forward before backing off from the garage.

I have noticed something similar in my 2006 RL. The engine is no doubt revving higher when it is cold. It can be a surprise, though.

saw this on the front page, my 3g TL does exactly that when the engine is cold. I don't notice it in reverse because I don't really press the gas when backing up like I do in drive.

My RL does this, too, though not consistently. I have learned to keep my foot on the brake a little harder than I did in my TL, which never did this.

Isn't that normal since when the engine is cold, it tends to be revving a little bit high? I used to drive a 92 Accord and when the engine is cold, I didnt have to step on the gas and it would go to 20km/h on a flat road.

I have noticed this as well. It was one of those "WTF" moments.

I have noticed this also, though not consistently. I remember it clearly because my wife said "Why do you always drive this thing like a race car?" and I was actually trying to be smooth for once!

I didn't think too much about it, but something similar has happened with my '05. It's occured about 2 or 3 times now too. For example today, I backed out of my driveway, stepped on the brake, shifted to "D", and stepped on the accelerator. There was no response for about a second or two and then the car suddenly lunged forward! It definitely caught me by surprise. Anyhow, my A12 service reminder has turned on, so I'll definitely let the techs know when I bring it in for service. This is not cool.

Has anybody noticed that when you put it in D, it goes in gear like a normal car but then it does it again? I think that the front and rear diffs do not always lock at the same time.
