Stupid fuel cut off

I had a nice opportinuty to take a top speed run this morning. The car was accelerating nicely and was cruising perfectly comfortably till 134 when the fuel cutoff was tripped! Why do we have this stupidity? European RL's can freely go up to 156, why not ours??????? The TL did not have a stupid nanny, why does the RL???? The tires are V rated, thus 150mph (continous) is entirely within their range.

I can understand your frustration, but its because the standard tires on the RL are not rated for the higher speeds. Since I don't seem to need 150+ speeds, I glady give up the soft rubber on the TL. My first set of tires lasted 12,000 miles on the TL at a very high price to replace.

damn...only 134 instead of 156. How will I ever be able to drive the car to work now?

If car was limited to 90 mph instead of 156 then I can see the beef...but IMO 134 and 156 is splitting hairs since last time I checked there's few times when one can go 156 and even when they can wtf is the point?

Give your local law enforcement a call and tell them you want to file a complaint against Acura for limiting your speed to 134. You may want to mention exactly when and where you will be doing this next so they can serve as witness to your complaint.
