Let us know what you find. I always run Hawk HPS in most of my cars and yet they do not offer them for the RL.
I saw Green Stuff, Posi Quiet, Akebono, and other generic standard pads. I drive hard so the Green Stuff may be my only option at this time. I had them before and they were rough on my rotors (another car). I will look into those Endless pads also but I think I read the M-Sports are generally a Solo track pad.

"2005 RL l Pearl Gray l Wood package l Rear Spoiler l Back up camera thru Nav-yep" ...

an off topic question for you...is your backup camera the Acura OEM kit, and is it plugged into your factory 05RL nav unit?

I plan on posting a DIY soon.

Don't use the Green stuff pads for the RL.

There's only one picture left in this thread, but trust me, the rest of them showed AWFUL brake dust deposition on FN P90's RL.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/d-003-anyone-know-perfomrnace-brake-pads-05-rl-499079/

He also commented on the Akebono pads in the same thread and liked them. Given FN P90 has over 200k miles on his RL, I believe him as he's gone through four sets of front brakes in that time, and his rears lasted 150k miles .

HTH!

Thanks Bob for the information. Believe me , it is more out of desperation than anything as I did not much care for those before. The Akebonos are pretty much a tad better than stock. Heavy car, spirited braking, crappy stock brakes. I have new rotors and want to do this when I put on my Iforged wheels.

I will give those Endless brakes a look.

470hpGS400 --- can you post some pics of your car in the pictures area.

Also looking forward for the DIY for the backup camera.

I will, have a lot going on, collecting parts so that I can take a few days for a dyno, install, etc. Still making up my mind on a few things-these brakes being one of them.

fatty, let us know where you find them, I think your right about those M Sports, seems to have the best overall characteristics. But $230!

Only the Vita, M Sport, and SSS seem to apply to the RL.

The Vita Nuova Pads are produced by Endless for the everyday city driver. They introduce the econmical Vita Nuova sports pad. The Vita Nuova series is our most demanded sports compound for the street and show enthusiast. It is first recommended to sand down the dpad briefly on the concrete befrore installation for noise reduction. Going to have 2 sets coming in.

Rated by Endless:

9 Noise level
7 inital response
7 Controllability
7 Pedal Feet
6 Durability
5 Fade Resistance

Type: Non-Asbestos
Driving Field: City/Street Driving
User Leve: Beginner: Street
Appropriate Rotor Temperature: Fahrenheit: 0-570
Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.3-0.35
Recommended Tire Use: Radial
------------------------------------------
The SS-S Sport is Similar to the Endless Type SS-Y compound, yet developed for the intermediate street driver allowing greater fade resistance. Ideal for both light and heavy weight vehicles.

Rated by Endelss:

9 Noise Level
8 Initial Response
7 Durability
7 Controllability
7 Pedal Feel
7 Fade Resistance

Type: Non-Asbestos
Driving Field: Winding Street
user Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Appropriate Rotor Temperature: Fahrenheit: 160-840
Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.3-0.4
Recommended Tire Use: Radial

--------------------------------------------
The SS-M Sport containing no steel fibers and very litle amounts of lead content, the amount of brake dust emitted from this compound as well as corrosive agents have largely been reduced. Its initial braking force with effective braking control temperature ranges has helped to break the image that non-steel pads are ineffective. Popular amongst higher-line, luxury/sport vehicles.

Rated by Endless:

9 Controllability
9 Noise Level
9 Pedal Feel
8 Fade Resistance
8 Durability
7 Initial Response

Type: Non-Asbestos
Driving Field: Winding Street
User Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Appropriate Rotor Temperature: Fahrenheil: 210-930
Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.3-0.4
Recommended Tire Use: Radial

---------------------------------------------------
The Type CC-X Characteristics enable to perform well on both street and track. Derived from the original formula, ceramic carbon metal base such as the CC-M brake pad, yet its difference lies in the ability to perform for a wide range of users. For the street, where low temperatures are more frequent, this pad performs quite well, causing less rotor damage than the CC-M and most semi-metallic pads. Usually, semi-metalic pads sacrifice initial response in order to perform better at higher temperatures, but the CC-X is able to do well at initial response as well. At higher temperatures, pedal feeling responds well while maintaining controllability with a stable coefficient of friction. For the circuit, Type CC-X can maintain its stability at rotor temperatures of 930-1250 Fahrenhet. Going to have 2 sets coming in.

Rated by Endless:

10 Pedal feel
10 Controllability
9 Fade Resistance
8 Initial Response
8 Noise Level
7 Durability
--------------------------------------------------
Type: Ceramic Carbon Metal
Driving Field: Street/Winding/Circuit
User Level: Amateur/Professional
Appropriate Rotor Temperature: Fahrenheit: 210-1300
Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.35-0.45
Recommended Tire Use: Street/High Grip

--------------------------------------------------------
The Type CC-R pad is an optimal sports pad for circuit driving providing great braking force and pedal feel with direct and generous controllability. A good choice for responses felt at higher rotor temperatures.

Rated Endless:

10 Fade Resistance
10 Pedal Feel
9 Initial Response
9 Controllability
7Durability
7 Noise Level

Type: Ceramic Carbon Metal
Driving Field: Winding Roads/Circuit
User Level: Experienced
Appropriate Rotor Temperature: Fahrenheit: 390-1470
Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.35-0.5
Recommended Tire Use: High Grip

Thanks for the reply. i figured it would take some time and I wanted pads for this coming week (rotors and wheel install) so I ordered F/R PosiQuiet pads. I should have them Tuesday and installed by the weekend. Let us know how those Endless pads work out.

Interesting enough I have been running those drilled Ebay rotors on all of my vehicles (with exception of those) with Rotora BBK) and never had a problem. I run only the drilled as the slots/drilled tend to make more noise.

I've used the following pads before, but not on a RL:

- NAPA Adaptive One w/NRS
- Raybestos Advanced Technology Ceramic w/NRS
- Akebono ProACT ceramic

All of them worked well. I personally prefer the Raybestos pads because they work just as well as the NAPA's but cost a lot less. I prefer using pads that use the NRS technology for the backing plate and a NU-LOK style floating shim. These pads will perform about the same as the stock pads though.

I'm not familiar with the pads that you mentioned.

I have run the PosiQuiet pads for 500+ miles and so far I am pleased. They have decent bite once cold and hold well once heated up. I will be able to post more once fully broken in and I take it through my favorite 35 mile canyon.

105 series ceramic or 106 series extended wear?

Though I knew I was going to get the ceramics I changed my mind and went with the semi metallics up front and the extended for the rear. The rears were not available in the other flavors. I generally like to keep the same brakes f/r otherwise.

I used the PosiQuiet charts below in choosing the SM over the ceramics
