A-spec shocks Still Available or Alternatives?
I've never driven a KB2, but I put A-Spec shocks and struts on my KB1, as former RL owner and board moderator Neuronbob did. He thought they had acceptable ride quality. I thought they were punishing as a stagecoach and ruined the whole luxury character of the car. Eventually, unable to stand it anymore, I kept the springs but replaced the shocks with KYB brand. It's still a little stiff over frost heaves, but I'm much happier with the overall ride-handling compromise now. I'd probably drive a KB2 on a used car lot to see if you like the setup, and if you do, go for it. Some people here have gone with very stiff coil-overs in lowering setups, but that's too hardcore for me — these are supposed to be comfy luxury sedans. You want that, buy a WRX STi.
