fog lights - after market

I did a search and didn't come up with much other than fixing my current fog light, which is cool but I'm wanting to install some after market fog lights (cheaper than OEM - maybe, and better quality - again, maybe). I'm not comfortable baking my fog lights and replacing the glass.

Has anyone purchased after market fog lights and had success with them?

Thanks.

IMO: Difficult to beat OEM Fog lamps, but at close to $200 each, kind of steep! You might want to try, an on-line, used part supplier, "ie" car-part.com. You could pick up a clean, used fog, for in the neighborhood of $50.00, shipped. After market lamps, generally, don't compare, quality wise, with OEM.

Me and Carbon Legend both did the fusion projector fog light retrofit and put in hids. Another option would be Morimoto LED foglights

Do you have anymore info about this retrofit? One of my fogs has a small hole in it so the bulb has blown. Really dont want to spend the money for a stock replacement.

I essentially removed the factory housing and made a custom bracket for the projectors. Not the cleanest job by any means but it's been on the car for like 4 years now, and I haven't had any problem yet. Granted I have the A-Spec from end, so I don't know how this would look aesthetically on a non-aspec model.
I think ChocBoyWonder did an actual retrofit in the factory housing??

When you say "fusion" is that a brand or like the Ford Fusion car fog lights?

I'm going to purchase the Aspec lip for my car, does it matter if I cut and modify the front lip before or after I were to rig up the bracket for the fog lights? Not sure how clear of a question that is. Let me try one more way of asking, if I were to get the front lip, cut it for the stock fog lights, then later modified the bracket for after market fog lights would the cut out on the front lip be the same?

It's the Ford Fusion fog lamps They interchanged with several Ford-Lincoln -Mercury cars from that era, but are typically easiest to get from a Fusion.

As far as the A-Spec kit is concerned, it comes with an opening for the factory fog lights. I didn't modify my A-Spec lip in any way for this project. It was literally removing the factory housing and designing the bracket for the fog lights so that I would line up the fog lights right.

I guess I've asked about this before, how does the round fog light look in the oval space?

I personally like the look much more than the stock lights

If I'm not mistaken, this should fit the RL https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ho...to-xb-led.html

and if so, that's the route I would take if i had an RL

I bought this set for my TL when it was first released but found out they didn't fit

I did end up fitting it to my mom's 9th gen Accord and they're super sexy

I may have to try these ones out on my RL and see how good they are. Both are mine are broken anyway so this is the cheaper route then buying new ones

When I talked to Jason @Carbon Legend I think he mentioned these were not straight drop ins and did require slight modification.

What kind of mods do you need to do for them to fit? Any cutting involved?

Buy an used set of OEM RL Foglight and put a set of LED bulb. Super bright and you can't go wrong. On my previous RL I put a set of 3000K HID on the OEM housing and came out great.

No hassle with easy DIY!

Just a note on the OEM lights: after having road debris punch holes in two of them, I replaced them with OEM units, installed Hoen yellow bulbs and ** coated the faces with 3M rock guard**
It's crystal clear and in the subsequent 10 years, no cracks, no pits, no troubles.
I think that mod cost me $10.
