Fog Lights on the TLX

Unless you get the TLX elite package, fog lights are a very pricey option $900+ in Canada on the other packages. Can they be sourced in the after market?

I'm sure you can probably get a decent deal, just be ready to install them yourself to save $300 or so.

I've heard on forums that the fog lights on the TLX are mainly for show only? That they don't really light up the road any better than without them due to the Jewel LEDs doing such a good job lighting the way.

Is this correct? I do like the look of the fog lights but for the price of $1000 I passed.

I am betting that only a small percentage of drivers ever encounter any fog conditions where fog light would be helpful. Fog lights are designed to illuminate the road surface below the level of the regular lights, and they do. But if you never or very rarely drive in fog then you do not "need" them. The cost for just show purposes is high.

The jewel eyes are so intense that sometimes they actually "wash out" the fog lights.... They're definitely just for show imo

Thanks guys. Very helpful. What does the front look like without the fog lights?. Does Acura use dummy lenses?

No dummy lenses, just a one piece trim for that whole section. Lots of photos around.

I added them to my 4 cyl tech. Really can't tell when they are on ,and they don't add much to the already great lights.
Look good, but for appearance only. Save your money for something else, if it's a concern.
