something weird happened this morning...check engine light flashing

so on my way to work/gym this morning around 6:50am was the first time since i purchased my Rl in april i actually drove it hard cause i saw a little b6 a4 and 2001-02 e39 5 series going at it on the northern state parkway and i said "hey" why not so as i hit the gas and i took over 4500rpm and then this was the second time i've used the sportshift since i really don't abuse my cars the check engine light started flashing as i was "driving spiritedly" but then when i eased off and started back cruising at "normal" speeds the light no longer came on so i don't know if this was a repost, but has this happened to anyone else and if so what is the reason behind it and if it hasn't happened what might be the cause? the car is sensitive to driving hard?

Sounds like a misfire code. It's happened to me in my CL-S 6 MT a few times when the tires broke free and I rev'd into vtec with wheel spin.

That situation would be very unlikely in your RL. Are you using 91 octane? Cheap gas could cause a misfire code if you drive hard.

i only use 93 octance...so i don't know..i'll try to take it to vtec in a day or too and see if it happens and if it does i'll definitely take it to the dealer.
