Really like the front end, and would love to get into one, but all dealers are at MSRP in SoCal.

I'm sure discounts will happen eventually.

It seems to be selling around here. I've seen a new one in the wild, away from a dealer, already. It was getting lots of test drive action the day I did my test drive.

My salesman told me to wait 2 months. It will be soon, I can tell you that. I don't think any current owner would pay sticker for the Rl.

I just got offered one at 46.5K, so looks like it is coming.

Isn't the MSRP $46,280?

For the base/non-navi version, yes.

That looks like $1000 over invoice, $45565. That's a pretty good deal. The deep incentives aren't gonna happen until there are 7-8 09 RL sitting on the lots not moving. That might be the case when the new TL hits the showroom.

09 prices

I am in the car biz and I spoke to my favorite place to buy Acuras (not great at servicing - they missed that my rear wheel was visibly pointed in the wrong direction 2x) but he said that they'll need to put plants in it by October because the new TL will be bigger and have AWD. Thus the discounts are coming but my guess is that Honda will be a bit slow in giving them out as they are pulling back supply sharply. BTW he will only get 2 between now and October - and he averages 125 new total Acuras a month, which is middle of the road in terms of size of the dealership.

If you want i can post the latest inventory for Acura on Monday when I get my latest Automotive News.

Yeah but the 09 TL with SHAWD wil probably cost almost like a base 09 RL -which will be heavily discounted- and still the RL will have more features and better fit and finish. I wouldn;t spend >40K on a TL, but definitely for an 09 RL.

Great. I would love to know the numbers.

You may be right about numbers and pulling back supply because the new RL's seem to be coming in a slow trickle, this despite the delayed release while they were--I assumed--accumulating in the port. Maybe they produced a limited number.

What I don't understand is why bother to update a model this much if you plan a limited run (2 years at most if predictions are correct) and --on top of that--limit supply during that short run?

I suppose many of the new components would carry over directly to a new vehicle so these would represent a future investment. Otherwise this seems odd to me.
