Should I Get an Oil Change Now?

So it's been over 9 months since my last oil change, and I'm 300 miles away from 3,000 miles since that oil change. The thing is, the car says the oil life is still at 30%, so I figured I could keep going on that oil. Should I trust the car? Am I good? Just wanna make sure.

That was a long convoluted way of saying you're 2,700 miles from your last oil change Feel free to trust the MID if you'd like but at 9 months, I'd personally look into changing it soon. Even when I don't drive my car very often, I try to change the oil at the very least once a year.

I change every 10,000 regardless of what the MID says. 133,000 miles and NO problems.

Follow the mid and use synthetic oil, you’ll be just fine. Mid usually goes to 7500 miles before triggering a warning light.

OK but I'm "old school". Been working on my cars since 1967.

Try this on for size: Acura Service Maintenance Guide - Carponents

I use it as a "guide" and don't follow it religiously. FOREX, change timing belt and water pump at 105,000, Just sayin'......

If you're using synthetic, change it out 10,000 miles or 1 year whichever comes first. If you are using conventional oil change it out 5,000 miles or 1 year.
