My sons finally returned our 08 “college” Pilot. It’s been bulletproof to 160k so I’m all in on Honda. My wife has been complaining about road tripping in my tuned TT so I’m looking for a non boring mile eater. What’s a more bulletproof RL, 05-08 or 09+? My budget is $10k.

I'd recommend 2007 to 2008 Acura RL. 2006 would be the next option..I have a 2008 RL with 157k miles and still running strong, but I do take good care of it and always on top of preventative maintenance. I have no reason to believe it will not go to 300k.

 

You can definitely find an RL with that budget.




Any specific reason why you're only look at the RL?

 

2005 is the first model year of this gen RL so I would avoid that one for sure. The MMC (2009+) had some nice upgrades like 6-speed, bigger wheels, and bluetooth music streaming. I think power folding mirrors might have been added, but not totally sure on that one.

 

I don't see many 2009-2012 RL's on the road, plus the improvements it definitely seems worth it...

They are probably rare though, and likely over $10K.

For $10K, you're probably looking at a clean 2007 or 2008 with about 80-100K miles.
