Try these commands in the HFL:

Systems Options > Clear > Yes > OK

Of course there are the usual voice readback acknowledgements between each voice command.

Note: This will delete you entire phonebook and may take a couple of minutes. This ALSO deletes you HFL passcode, and clears all paired phones.

It essentually restores the HFL to the original factory state.

This ONLY addresses the HFL phonebook.

The personal address book is part of the NAVI and must be done seprately.

For the NAVI address book, there is no master 'reset' or 'clear' (as with HFL) that is user friendly. You need to delete address book entries and previous destinations via the SETUP menu individually.

There is a selection in the NAVI diagnostic screens (intended for tech access) where owner information may be saved, imported or exported. I assume this is used by techs either tansferring an owners data between compatible Acura cars or NAVI units. But it requires the NAVI unit is connected to some device, either a port or smart card. They also must have a magic clear command when prepping cars for resale. But I would not trust that to some dealers to complete.

I bought ours, used. It came with the phone system "cleaned" but with the Nav destinations still there.

I used the "home" setting left over from the prior owner to find them and slaughter the entire family. Hey, not my fault.

Don't forget to clear the Homelink for your garage doors. Easy to overlook.

I completely understand. It was probably motivated by the dash being left dusty by the previous owners.

I live on an unpaved road so it is very difficult to keep the dust from collecting on the dash....

that's fantastic!
... mine had some churches stored as destinations from the prior owners. I didn't realize burning churches was so much fun until I started driving my RL .. Thanks Acura!

In order to clear the pin, Acura told me it would be almost $300, then I still need to pay $200 to update my nav. Saving is the name of the game

haven't tried it but the owners manual says disconnect the battery for an extended period and everything resets to factory. Would you like me to remove your battery cable overnight for $300? Make you a deal, $250 Ok?
