scratches on side windows

hey i was wondering if any of you guys had suffered this problem before... straight vertical scratches from what appears to be something in the window track. mine is only on my drivers side window. i figure it could be from sand and salt getting in there in the winter weather. i could not stand looking at it anymore so i picked up a used window from ebay off an '08. i got a really good price on it, but i am afraid that it too will get scratched ...so i havent taken it to get installed it yet. maybe i will wait for spring??

Well, when you do put in your new one, you'll still have to take off that inner door panel. And by doing so, then you can check what's really inside that's causing it.
