Rotora BBK for 05 rl???

so the only person i have seen on here with custom calipers is ambiguous, i was wondering what calipers those are that he used and from what application? Are they a perfect match for the rl or do i need something else besides the 15" rotors? Any help is appreciated.

That's an 8 pot Caliper on the front and is specifically made for the RL. Direct fit. Brembo Japan makes a 6 Pot but cost $5000. For now Rotora is the best bet for the BBK.

Strange: I find the calipers on the RL one of its better features but people are willing to spend thousands to change them? If you had a TL then it would improve the looks but
3K to 5K just to change the logo on the RLs calipers seems a bit steep besides, braking is not necessary with the RL because we have SH-AWD! BTW I have over 81K on my original brake pads - anybody over a 100K on the originals?

I wouldn't change the brakes, honestly. The stock setup is really good and mostly needs a firmer pedal feel and better fade protection. Thus, fluid upgrade and SS lines would pretty much do the job. Not to mention that I like the big "A C U R A" on the stock front calipers. That definitely looks boss.

There is no RL specific Big Brake Kit from ROTORA. Most of you should be find with upgraded rotors, lines, pads, and fluid.

What rotors/pads should be most efficient at stopping the car while maintaining peace and quiet?

Theres a dude parting out a 05 - 08 RL, on Ebay. His username is tomsforeignautoparts.

I've never bought anything from him, and some of his parts seem expensive, but he may just be throwing out numbers. Might want to ask him if he has pulled the calipers on the "donor" vehicle and haggle.

first one is just 1, and doesnt include pads or clips, and is $150 BIN
second one has both fronts, and includes pads and clips, but starts at $300 so may go higher.

All noted very clearly in the auctions :-)

2nd one is for 2 wheels, and has clips and pads.

1st one is 1 wheel and does not include clips/pads.

You may want the 2nd...

you know to tell you the truth i have noticed, not sure if it's because of the age group that purchases the RL, but we on this side, are more relaxed, mature and shall i say controlled? i would say RL owners, are very laid back compared to other Acura vehicle owners. in regards to the calipers, they are the same just one is a pair and the other is one side and they are the same calipers just that one might be a little newer and the finish is not as faded

STOPTECH or ROTORA rotors are a great setup; you can even use them with factory pads if you want.

Hmm.. didn't know that. Maybe ROTORA will give that info to me in the 09 file.

i went with these rotors since its so easy to see thru the FS-01's. I'm still using factory pads and i did notice a difference in stopping power.

im guessing you changed the rotors along with the wheels? you would also notice a difference cause those ame's are 5lbs lighter than the stock 17'' = better stopping distances

And in my experience, more lively response on acceleration with less unsprung weight.

What kind of rotors are these?
