Can someone tell me where to locate the sfiter knob for my '05 RL at a decent price?

I assume you are talking about the wood shifter knob? What is a decent price? About $100 from an internet dealer including shipping.

Otherwise try eBay, and you may save a few bucks. See this one under $90

How close is the wood color to the interior trim?

On my 2006, it looks pretty good. Objectively, it is a little bit darker, but because it is removed from the large expanses of wood (such as they are), you can't really tell that much. There is even some variation in the real wood. No one notices.

The wood shift knob is real wood. So there will be variations (no two trees alike!).

Mine matches very well.

Where you will see more variance is with the wood (plood) steering wheel. Mine is a little darker than the dash and shifter knob, but it does bring much more to the look of the cabin than that variance negates.

The wood knob fits the interior perfectly. It's an inexpensive way to add more class to the interior.

wood shift knob is great! Easy screw off, screw on to install.

Feels so smooth... almost like a worry stone..

How do you remove the shift knob? just turn counterclockwise?
The UPS guy just dropped off the wood one today!

Falken 452's will be in on Tuesday for the Inspyres and the A-Spec lip is on. Pics will be on the way soon.

Agree. Really a must have accessory. The wood and the Acura logo on top really looks good. The car probably should come with the wood steering wheel and shifter standard.

This is the best deal I've seen on eBay for one of the RL shift knobs:

I paid about $15 more for mine on eBay, wish I'd have waited and bought this one.

Ernie,

It says the condition is 'great'....meaning it is used....ummmm, previously owned. Not that much could go wrong with them aside from some possible scratches from rings.

It looks like our own robarsan jumped on this one. If there's an issue with this one (which I agree is probably used), I'm sure he'll let us know.

I paid more for my knob on eBay. It was used also. When I received it, I was surprised to see it looked like new. At least this seller offers refunds and has a high rating. Besides, all our RLs are used anyway.

Good Luck with your search!

Ernie

I got mine on eBay for around $65 shipped. Brand new.

Got my "wood" steering wheel on ebay as well. $205 but it was used and has a couple of small, insignificant scratches.

Wood wheel & shifter matching the dash

Regarding the wood look wheel & shifter matching the dash....it doesn't. However, it looks really nice dispite the slight miss-match. I actually looked at it before committing and I was hesitant, but I chose to get it and I really like it. Regards. Doug Hess, Springfield, Pa.

Installed the new shift knob today. It does balance out the wood trim effect. I had no intention of making any modifications, but I have to admit that I like the look.

Now it's time for the woodlook steering wheel. Don't waffle as long as I did!

The wood knob (and wheel) really spiff things up.

I wonder (as I have elsewhere) if anyone will "upgrade" to the wood center console from the 2009. I'm trying to decide if its overkill. The 2009 won't be able to have the wood shift knob, though, thanks to the new pushbutton style.

I think my dash, as is, is fine.
