I really would like some help if you guys could hook it up I'd really appreciate it.

05-08 guys, AND 09 guys would you be able to measure your Exterior Driver's side mirror for me?

Please post what year RL you have (05-08, or 09+)

And post the following dimensions for me?



I didn't know what to call each dimension in a way that would make universal sense, so I just labeled it 1, 2, 3

For 1: measure from the bottom of the chrome strip along the mirror all the way to where it meets the Glass.

For 2: Top Right corner (plastic meets glasS) all the way down to the bottom of the chrome strip.

For 3... measure along the BOTTOM of the chrome strip.


Many of the accord sedan guys use the TSX's mirrors, and I'm trying to figure out if the RL's will work for the Coupe..... the chrome strip runs along the bottom of the mirror (attached to the mirror) in the coupe, but in the sedan (like the TSX) the chrome strip STOPs at the mirror.

We're after LED turn signals... the Euro, and Jap Accords (not the TSX, the actual Accord (inspire or whateveR) over seas comes standard with the TSX LED mirrors on the sedans, but the coupe is only available in the US so we're trying to figure out what parts from the Acura Parts Bin will work for us)

I'm not sure if the 05-8 share the same exact mirror with the 09 so thats why I'm asking you Pre MMC guys to measure for me, AS WELL AS the 09+ guys.

I'm not sure if the Accord have the chrome insert... but the RL have the chrome insert... the TL on the other hand have no chrome insert... you might want to check with the TL (07 - 08) mirror also... after that, you'll need to figure out how you want to wire the signal lights... I've messed with the TL side mirrors to know some wiring schematics...

The dimensions look pretty close expecially 1 and 3.

2 i think the the accords maybe a little longer? closer to 9" but its so hard to measure it right i could be a little off

Also I tooka few pictures of the accord's mirror.

I'm not sure the RL's works the same way.

The strip is apart of the RL's mirror, but I'm not sure if it it is apart of the Accord's mirror.

The accord's looks like it over laps the chrome in some way.

I'm going to post these pics... can anyone either take pics of the same angles of their RL's mirror or at least just look at them and tell me how the RL's construction and setup compares?

Although parts may be produced anywhere in the world nowadays, I think the TL and Accord are more akin as they are assembled in the same plant (Marysville, OH). I think the mountings are likely tooled similarly as the skin and interiors are the primary differences between these cars.

The TSX and RL are Japanese assembly and I would anticipate more differences than similarities to a US spec Accord or TL.

absolutely there are a lot of differences. but the cars still share a lot in common.... the mirrors may not be one of them. but thats what I'm here to find out

One point I do notice is the RL and TL use 6mm mounting bolts. The Accord uses 5mm.

thanks man I really appreciate the diagrams.

It looks like the coupe's mirror DOESN'T come with the chrome strip ALREADY on it the way the RL's does. hmm. But I think its #19 on the RL diagram (the chrome)

So i'm wondering if it would some how work.

I'm trying to get a mirror assembly off of ebay for cheap but they all want 200+ for it... which I'm not willing to pay just to TRY to see if it will work.

may start looking around at some junk yards.

i think the accord's chrome strip extend all the way to the edge of the entire window. The RL only extend to the mirror. That is why RL's mirror comes with a chrome insert. if you have coupe, you might be able to cut that strip. if you have sedan, you can get RL's parts. than again, you might be able to swap the main unit from the housing to the joint and keep the original mount.... also the signal light is different between RL and TL. RL have 3 LEDs and TL have the same plus a strip on the lens to disperse light.
