Reason to be pissed-off? I think so!
During driving today a rear-view mirror simply FELL-OFF!!!
Is this a reason to be pissed off at Acura "quality" - I think so! Tomorrow I am calling Acura dealer to get it fixed free of charge - if they are not willing to fix this idiotic issue I will trade this piece of rattling junk!

I would not be happy if this happened but do not know of any car manufacturer that has a bumper to bumper 6 year warranty.
My family purchased a brand new Bentley in 2007 had an a/c duct fall off and side marker lamp fall off in the first week.......and that was just the problems in the first week!

Is this a reason to most rational people who maintain their cars if they expect so much from them? No.
There is a thread here about the screws that hold the mirror on becoming loose. Surely the mirror was loose before it fell off. When was the last time you ran a sponge or cloth over the entire painted surface of your car? Reading your post, this is what I hear: A screw became loose, and it's Acura's fault.
But you're right. You should probably go get a 535i to replace your rattling junk. Just don't bitch when your HPFP "BLOWS-UP!!!", and you are stranded on the side of the road.
In fact, a little awareness and foresight would have led you to any one of these:

#2 - thank you for the comment, will have to research more on this issue. Quite disappointing to see a part simply falling-off during the drive... anyhow, will have to fix somehow.
#3 - I would be pissed-off with Bentley and that happening; you are right - there is no 6yr bump-bump warranty vehicle... but, really!? Mirror falling off is quite something.
#4 - probably over-reacted with calling it a piece of rattling junk - not sure if I tried to "insult" a rear-view mirror or to insult Acura for letting this happen ... anyhow, car overall is delivering in every way possible (minus rear-view mirror for now). I have yet to find out if this was something that previous owner played with and left it for me to loose nerves on ...
#5 - I am no BMW fan therefore answer where that 535i is coming from may be in your head already; however, I appreciate the thread links: definitely should have searched for it to see if there is an issue and what possibly may be the solution to fix it - much appreciated bud!

If you are under warranty, it is worth a report to Acura for a fix and inspection for damage. If not, there is a service manual linked in one of these threads that would show how to re-install. Sounds like you just wanted to vent. Probably better to do it here than to the service manager.

So did the 6 year old adhesive give out and the button fall off of the windshield or did the mirror fall off of the button? Either way, relax! If this is the worst thing that happens to you this week, it was a pretty good week! Severe storms tore through our area last night and a tornado demolished a town about an hour away. That is a problem, this is a $3.00 fix.
No big deal.

I know - I feel embarrassed now for letting it get to me so quick ... I put it back but it is not completely fixed..
Note: It is a mirror that got disconnected from the button (that is attached to the windshield)... Gotta check out if there is guide how to fix or should just go to body shop and get it fixed?

If the button is still on the glass, just slide the mirror housing back on there and cinch the set screw. Done.
If the button popped off the glass, go to the auto parts store and buy a rearview mirror glue kit for about 3 bucks, then clean both the glass and the button before using it. Done.

Did the mirror really fall off or did it just go 'limp'? I had a Prelude (as original owner) that suffered from a 'limp' mirror after 3 years. I had to crack open the mirror body to find a plastic piece that supports a metal ribbon that puts pressure on the ball simply broke off. I super glued that piece again and the mirror was fine. I had a cassette deck fail too with that car but that was it.
Seriously- there are worse things that can happen to a 7 year old car than a broken mirror. I see a number of cars younger than that that have crappy paint as one example of a much harder to fix issue that is costly too. At least you weren't stranded and did not need a tow.

Well he said "a rear-view mirror fell off". All three show a view of what's behind you. Since there is only one inside one, it should have read "the rearview mirror".
