Rants & Raves
Yes. You're right. They did a few visible changes but generally the same. Here's mine if you didn't see it. https://acurazine.com/forums/photogr...ctures-941912/
I saw yours in there, nice car. Dunno if our RLs qualify for a similar photoshoots like your Mustang, but i'm certainly up for giving it a go!

Omg... Add that with the black interior and.... Just yes. So much Yes.
Your bulb is likely dying. Could be the ballast, but 95% of the time it's the bulb. You can be absolutely sure by swapping the bulbs and seeing if it follows, but since changing them is a pain, it's not an easy debug.
The software needs serious updating. I don't need to buy a new car to be able to have my software updated!
My car has xm radio and navigation, but no traffic option. kinda inexcusable.

You're complaining about the infotainment system of a 10 year old design? (2nd gen RL started 2005) That's like having a 3G iPhone and complaining it doesn't have the same features of the iPhone 6S.
U sure u doing proper comparisons here? This is a software update we're talking about coz all the equipment is there, and if designing a car in 05 makes the whole generation suffer that's Acuratelystupid.
It has it if you want to pay $3.99/mo for it thru XM. Do you even know what Nav Traffic looks like on this system? It doesn't even activate unless you're within a certain mileage gradient on the map.
To supposedly like your car, you complain about nit-picking stuff more than anyone I've seen on here. Try having an Audi where you have to use their diagnostic tablet to compress the calipers to change brake pads. Strange...

Why thank you, i've been asking if it does in the other thread (right next to this one). Care to please show me how to work it?
Am I supposed to? does it justify singling me out if i don't?
Is it ok with you if I got no clue what that meant?
I just had an Audi for 4 years.
Re-read trying to have a sense of humor pops. My valid points may irritate you, but they are valid.

As far as activating your XM Traffic, you must call up XM's customer service, give them the serial number of your headunit (forgot how to do it off the top of my head) and then pay them $3.99/month and the option will appear on your map screen. If you want to update the map data on the nav, you can buy updated DVD discs at http://acuranavi.navigation.com.

I don't know of any car manufacturer that goes back to their older cars and updates the software to make it modern. Are you saying Audi will update the infotainment on 7-10 year old cars? If I bought a previous generation Audi it would not be my expectation that Audi releases a software update to bring that car's infotainment up to modern standards.

I am asking if traffic options is available. I called Sirius xm last week, they said my car doesn't have it so they couldn't add it on my account. Hence my rant. There's more details on the adjacent thread.
I wouldn't compare manufacturers this car is equal or more value to its Counterparts. I don't see a reason why not update a software so long as the equipment in the car exists. They already put a price on the map update so they can even charge. But yes I do consider it a very valid point. Not everyone leases cars, some still like to get screwed less and outright buy them.

Then come here to Rave or rant one last time.
Merci monsieur!

It's possible that the other post about XM not being available on CDN RL's might be right.
I guess we have different expectations about software. I currently still own a 1999 Acura TL which was one of the first cars with in dash navigation. The software is quite antiquated now. But I have no expectation that Acura will update it to keep it modern. And yes, I totally agree with you about not leasing cars. I've owned all my cars from day one. I wrote a check to pay for it outright, and I intend to keep them minimum 15 years.
As it turns out, I do not have the traffic option. Dealer says its a software thing that US 05 - 12 have but Canadian models (which are made in Japan) don't. Only third generations in Canada have it its called Acura Link the Next Generation.
So a silly extra option in the software is stopping me from having Acura Link and all its options from traffic to weather and other aLink options.
Hence why i'm surprised at your expectations. If you bought your iphone 3G with IOS 4.xx, you could still update to IOS 5.12 and i think 6.2 to use the newer apps and options made. ...

$10 says it's not just software then. There a good number of hardware differences between domestic markets. If you want it bad enough, you could procure USDM parts one at a time and see which one is limiting you. That is unless the limitation is on the signal provider's side.
Yea buying is best, and while brand new is nice, a used good mileage tends to be economically best. U lose less value. Hence my rant on updates.

007 spy is correct, do not waste your money on XM Traffic. I tried it out for 6 months and found it to be virtually useless in the San Francisco bay area. Google maps or Waze app on your phone will give you better traffic information.
This vehicle recognizes presets based on which set of keys unlocked the car: driver 1 or 2.
Driver seat, steering wheel, side mirrors, AM FM & XM presets all are set to that driver key.
It pleasantly surprising and qualifies as a major rave!
