:( I got a confusing problem!
:( I got a confusing problem!
I drove my son to school today all's well and then went and parked the car in the garage. when I started it up in the afternoon the audio screen had gone blue, my FM2 presets gone and XM1 & XM2 presets gone. Only AM & FM1 presets are still there.
I turned on my headlights (still daytime) and the screen did not change to night colors...
Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened today to trigger this.

Could just be as simple as a bad/intermittent connection at the battery terminal. Check the battery connections for corrosion and give them a good cleaning and tightening.
But it seems odd if the head unit only lost some presets and not others. Might be something going south in there?

Did you try pressing once on the (-) button for the interior illumination brightness? If it's on the brightest setting it will not automatically change from day to night vise versa.
I think you should give that a go. Just press once on the minus to reduce the dasdh lights by one bar, that'll do it. This tip was courtesy of our licensed to kill moderator and jjones91.

I just posted in my thread that I tried it and it worked.
The whole 2 seconds it took to switch to night mode was suspenseful to say the least.. never have to press that damn button again

Solution below. So embarrassing.
So i go to the garage to check on the battery cables' whether tight or not etc. I turn the ignition on to check whether it will go into night mode or not, and it did. hmmm.. I switch to XM radio, all my presets are there.. FM2, AM, all!

Then it occurred to me... even during the drive in the afternoon (check initial post) I had noticed when I parked the car to go into a building, the steering wheel took a lot longer to back itself up and I found that peculiar but didn't think much of it.
So it occurred to me, that I had given my keys to my wife to lock the door as her keys were already in the car in her baby-stuff bag that I transported over earlier.
The car recognized her set of keys and apparently it starts up the radio and everything else to HER presets including map and audio color, etc.
So I just went back to the garage with her keys, and sure enough, no XM presets etc.
So... Sooo embarrassing. Sorry guys for the false alarm.
And the RL has two well deserved raves coming up!

Ah, the simplest of simple solutions... Ideal!
Those sorts of fixes are always a bit humbling but refreshing at the same time when you realise it's a no cost "dummy" fix.
Odd that it would recognize her key, passively in the car with priority over yours that was actively sending a signal. But happy ending none the less.
